Relentless

There are many things to be said about David- his rise from shepherd boy to great king, the passionate poet and musician, a brilliant strategist and warrior- but the thing that I believe is absolutely critical to get from his life, is the fact that from beginning to end, David was consumed with one thing. That one thing was the deep longing to live close to God, to look at God, and to relentlessly pursue Him regardless of his moral failures, weaknesses, victories and successes in life. In Psalm 27:4, he opened his heart, and in essence declares that God could take away his influence, money, authority and position, as long as he didn't take away His beauty from him. David made God's beauty his primary reward and never veered from this overwhelming passion to know God and to live close to Him. David was a student of God’s beauty and spent all his days searching Him out.

This relentless pursuit of the one thing in David’s life MUST be restored in these days. If we can see what David saw, we will live as David lived. There is a "key of David" for us in these last days to lay ahold of, and I believe these keys will help sustain us for the coming days of crisis and glory.
